free boomer now

We've put up with the rat race long enough. We'd like to retire. A few things are working against us--they seem to all have jobs in Washington, D.C., and are committed to screwing us. Jimmy Carter--I love the guy--but I'd still like the canal back. I loved the canal. Jimmy--Jimmy, please--how could you raise the age we have to work until we get Social Security after we've spent all our lives shelling out the cash so people can sit in front of the TV and whine about having fixed incomes. We'd love to have a fixed income--rather than one that could disappear tomorrow. Now, George has his war--he's busy--but can't somebody slip something past him once in a while, like they used to do with Bill, when he was otherwise engaged. How about making people who make 100 million dollars a year pay the same Social Security tax as folks making minimum wage. Is that too tough? What are those kids in Washington doing, anyway?
I'll bet that if you did that, you could roll back that age at which you could start to receive Social Security to 55. I say, let's do it. In need to hit the beach now, while I can still remember why.
